NW Portland, Bethany
Portland Oregon's Bethany neighborhoods are located north of highway 26 just west of Forest Heights, overlooking Beaverton. Generally newer traditional construction is the norm, rarely over 10 years of age. Schools are rated top in the state, similar to Lake Oswego but without the high price attached. Bethany homes for sale range from the mid-$200's for a small condo to well over $600k for detached houses.
Bethany Village is the local shopping hub. Enjoy an ice cream cone or specialty cookie from Nestle's shop while sitting on the amphitheater steps. Kids can play center stage in the fountain. During summer months there are several outdoor Village concerts where streets are shut down and the community gathers for a taste of local style and food.
NW Portland, Cedar Mill
One of the older NW Portland Oregon homesteads with many subdivisions named after the Bauers. Today it's one of the above average priced communities feeding top notch schools like Findlay Elementary and Stoller Middle School. Homes are detached and start around $400k.
Construction is a mix of 1960's and new construction. Much of this area is sloped enabling valley views, drawing a premium for the land. Well established older neighborhoods tend to offer large .25 acre lots and larger. Appreciation in this area has been strong over recent years.
