Shopping in West Portland
As you enter into the suburbs of Metro Portland, you'll find more of the traditional shopping experience. In recent years, however, rainy Portland has been experimenting with new shopping concepts with more outdoor malls to take in whatever little sunshine there is in our state during the winter months.
West Portland - Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard & Tualatin:
One of the largest and most posh shopping malls in the Portland is the Washington Square Mall. It houses 4 department stores including Nordstrom's and Sears, as well as over 170 stores. In November 2005, Washington Square added a whopping 20,000 square feet to a total of 100,000 square feet of retail space. The new addition to the mall includes The Cheesecake Factory, Pottery Barn Kids and Sephora.
5 miles south of the Washington Square Mall is the new Bridgeport Village. This is one of the first outdoor shopping malls (the first one was built in 2004 in Hillsboro). There're 60 upscaled shops, 15 restaurants, and 18 movie screens with street performances at the center of the mall during the beautiful summer months.
